Hallo allerseits,
Sommer im Senegal war ok. War jemand schon mal im August in Mali? Ist es da auszuhalten, wie ist das mit den Straßen in der Regenzeit?
Wer kann Auskunft geben.
Gruß Andreas

Hi Andreas,
It depends of what you'd like to do...
Normally august it's rain "end time" and most of the roads can be done.
The most dangerous area is the Dogon cliff and the sourroundings because 3 or 4 little rivers grown up and destroy bridges etc.
If you'll be there, ask to locals in Bandiagara (better to go to Chaval Blanc Hotel and ask directly to the owner). Last august the big bridge on the tamrac to Sevare was down... and wasn't no easy to cross the river.
From there to Burkina F. no problems last august...
From Kite Kayes area, normally it's better to be 3 vehicles
From Douentza to Tomboctou, friends told me, no problems.
From Douentza to Youga Piri, depends of rains, last aug. wasn't opened also for 4x4.
Good sand!
