ALGIERS - A large number of archaeological finds and works of art have been seized by special cells of the Algerian gendarme working in the fight against smuggling of this type of good. Cent dix-sept (117) objets antiques et oeuvres d'art ont été récupérés par les gendarmes de la section de sécurité et d'intervention de Skikda, a indiqué mardi la Gendarmerie nationale dans un communiqué.
Ces 117 objets antiques et oeuvres d'art, dont 28 échiquiers en argent, 21 horloges, 17 statuettes en bronze, en argent et en marbre, 15 toiles, 7 chandeliers et 2 vases en marbre, ont été saisis au domicile d'une personne au centre-ville de Salah-Bouchaour par les gendarmes en vertu d'une autorisation d'extension de compétence et d'un mandat de perquisition, a-t-on précisé de même source ... mehr
