Landweg nach Indien

Hallo,

bin bei meinen Recherchen auf dieses sehr informative Forum gestoßen und wollte mich mit meiner, vielleicht eher ungewöhnlichen, Frage an Euch wenden.

Hintergrund: Das Ziel ist vom Mittelmeer nach Indien zu gelangen. Der Seeweg über Suez - Aden - Mumbai scheint mir aber derzeit äußerst riskant und eher unmöglich.

Mögliche Fortbewegungsmittel für meine Reise: alles ausser Flugzeug und einem eigenen Fahrzeug.

Da ich keine Reiseerfahrung in diesen Ländern habe ganz naiv formuliert: als Alternative erscheint mir nur der Landweg - über Ägypten, Saudi Arabien, Iran, Pakistan oder Türkei, Iran, Pakistan?

Ich wäre über alle Tipps, Hinweise und Erfahrungen von erfahrenen Reisenden in diesem Forum dankbar.

Ist so ein Vorhaben derzeit, d.h. innerhalb der nächsten 1,5 Jahre überhaupt möglich? Einerseits vom Sicherheitsrisiko her, andereseits von den jeweiligen lokalen Transportmitteln?

saudi arabien lässt meiner info nach nur organisierte gruppenreisen ins land... da solltest du dich mal informieren.
Mit dem iranischen visum ist es auch n bisschen problematisch, ne zeit lang bekam man es meines wissens nach en route in der türkei, jetzt gehts glaub ich nurnoch in deinem heimatland...
ich hab in n paar jahren die gleiche route vor, also schreib mal wenn du auf was geiles stösst!

@Birgitt: auch danke für den Hinweis - Oktober ist bei mir leider nicht möglich, das ist bei mir die Hauptsaison für die Präsentation meiner Multimediashows. Reise ist für mich ab Frühjahr 2012 ein mögliches Thema.

Firstly, a quick trip to the Central Post Office in Bur Dubai and apply for an Indian visit visa (295 Dhs.)
Then a quick cycle down to Deira and cruise along the dhow wharfage. Talk to the dhow owners and see who is going to where and then negotiate passage including your bikes.

You may find that as little as 200Dhs will get you a long way!

The only
thing you have to do is make sure you get a Dubai Immigration exit stamp before you go...a quick trip to the Dubai Department of Immigration & Naturalisation at Trade Centre and they will tell you what the procedure is or check with the captain of the boat as they all have to get stamps somewhere.

there are all shippers, agents (air & sea) and packers located in one building complex!

you go there with your bike, one day for paper and packing, and in 3-4 days your bike is at your destination...

wer mit dem Auto vom Iran nach Indien will, der kann ab Bandar-e-Abbas im Süden des Iran mit der Fähre (Auto ca. 300,-€ + p.P. 40,-€)
nach Shargah (UAE) nähe Dubai fahren. Fährgesellschaft South Lines:

Ab Shargah oder evtl. ab Dubai geht es dann weiter mit einem RORO Vessel, das sind Autofähren die aber keine Passagiere mitnehmen, nach Mumbai (Bombay). D.h. man muss dann weiter fliegen oder eine Passagierfähre nach Mumbai nehmen.

Hab die Firma gestern abend per mail mal kontaktiert, heut früh gleich eine Antwort bekommen, die verschiffen nicht nur Fahrzeuge vom Iran ( Bandar-e-abbas ) direkt nach Indien ( Mumbai ), sondern kümmern sich zudem noch um den kompletten Zollvorgang und alle Papiere UND kümmern sich um die Beantragung des Carnet de passages, wenn man dafür die benötigten Papiere hat (Fahrzeugbrief/-schein, Reisepass).

From Bandar trains run to Tehran, Esfahan and Mashhad, via points in between. The daily 1st-class train to Tehran (IR90, 000 for a berth in a six-bed couchette) departs at 2.15pm and, insh’Allah, arrives at 9am. It stops at Sirjan (IR29, 600, five hours) and Yazd (IR53, 000, nine hours), though the arrival time (around 11.15pm) isn’t that convenient.

The Ghazal trains offer meals and more luxurious four-berth couchettes. They run to Tehran (IR230, 000, 19 hours, 3pm) and Mashhad (IR230, 000, 22 hours, 3.30pm), both three times weekly.

An entirely different train goes to Esfahan (IR41, 700/66, 100 1st/2nd class, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday), departing at 5pm and arriving at a rather unusually civilised 8.30am.

Ferry service between Dubai and India expanded

A ferry service launched two months ago linking Dubai with India's eastern ports of Chennai and Visakhapatnam has been expanded to connect Kochi and Tuticorin due to increased demand.

The feeder service, operated by Singapore-based Far Shipping Lines, has been operating two vessels between the ports of Jebel Ali in Dubai, Colombo, Haldia, Chennai and Visakhapatnam in every 12 days.

Now due to increased demand, the company has decided to operate new services to western ports of Tuticorin and Kochi and to upgrade the existing feeder link to a weekly service, a media report said.

Dubai-based Vasco Global Maritime, the middle-east arm of Singapore-based Vasco Maritime, is the sole agent for the service in Dubai.

"Our service is the first of its kind in which the cargo is being carried by the same vessel directly from and to Jebel Ali to the Indian coast ports. This has been a neglected coast and nobody has taken the risk of putting one ship on such a long route before," the Gulf News report quoted a company spokesman as saying.

Earlier, cargo to and from Kolkata and other eastern ports to Dubai was transhipped via Colombo, he said.

A license has been issued for a ferry service linking Mumbai, Karachi and Dubai, Pakistan's Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Babar Khan Ghauri said in Islamabad on Thursday.

"The launch of the ferry service was a long-awaited demand of businessmen," Ghauri told reporters after a visit to Port Qasim.

The ferry service would give considerable boost to trade and help businessmen, particularly small traders in transporting goods, he said, adding that a shipping protocol agreement between India and Pakistan would be signed next month.

"This would induce a number of private shipping companies to operate under the Pakistani flag and would help our shipping industry grow considerably," he said. The ferry service, which existed between the 2 cities for several years after independence, was proposed by India last year.

The service was expected to be ready by the year-end when the two countries would reopen the consulates in Karachi and Mumbai to meet the rush for visas.

Dubai: The initial fare for the Karachi-Dubai ferry service will be $549 (Dh2,000) for a round trip.

A luxury ferry service between Karachi and Dubai has been approved. It will take off on November 2, Captain (retd) Anwar Shah, Director General of Pakistan Ports and Shipping said.

He said the Pakistan government is encouraging private operators to run the ferry service. "We have already awarded licences to five operators and Gulf Dream Cruise will be the first to operate its cruise in November," he said.

Gulf Dream Cruise will run a weekly ferry service between Dubai and Karachi. The ship will take two days to travel from Karachi to Dubai. It will dock in Dubai for a day and then return to Karachi. Passengers will be able to take a one-way trip as well.

Shah said that the regular ferry for fast transfer of passengers between the two countries is not feasible because the airfare is quite cheap between Karachi and Dubai.

Also, expatriates living in the UAE don't want to spend days on the ship when they go on annual leave to their country.

"This is a unique idea and there is a lot of potential as there is a big demand from foreign and Pakistani tourists who love to go on a cruise for a short distance and Dubai is the most wanted destination," Shah said.

Gulf Dream Cruise weighs 23,000 tonnes with a length of 196 metres. It has 540 rooms and it can accommodate up to 1,250 passengers and will have a crew of 400.

The cruise will have all the facilities available in an international cruise liner. It will have theatre, games, entertainment facilities, restaurants and even bars.

Shah said the service would be extended to other Gulf countries such as Bahrain, Oman and Qatar in the coming years.

Tour operators in Dubai have also welcomed the new service. "It will definitely give a boost to tourism between the two countries," said Avtar Singh, Administration and Operations Manager at Lama Tour, which receives tourist groups from Pakistan.

He said even residents in the UAE would like to go on such a cruise.

A ferry service between Mumbai and Karachi is on the cards, said a senior Pakistani official.

"Once it starts, it will provide a convenient link for passengers from Mumbai to Dubai via Karachi," said Captain (retd) Anwar Shah, Director General of Pakistan Ports and Shipping

He said the Pakistan government has already given approval for the service after completing formalities to run a ferry service between Mumbai and Karachi.

"We are waiting for a response from the Indian government but there has been delay due to the recent row between the two countries," he said.

Vor allem im Hafen von Mumbai gabs außer in-den-Container-fahren für uns nichts zu tun. Ich glaube, ich wäre durchgedreht, wenn ich mit der Bürokratie rumschlagen hätte müssen. Der Agent in Dubai war etwas lahm, wir mussten öfters zu ihm und ihm die Daten aus der Nase ziehen. Dadurch sind wir leider nicht in den Oman gefahren, sondern blieben die 10 Tage stattdessen in Dubai. In Mumbai war das gottseidank nicht mehr so. Mustafa ist definitv für einen Inder unglaublich zuverlässig!

Bei Seco dauert es 2 Tage zwischen Ankunft und Release. Bei anderen Agenten dauert das wohl gerne mal länger. Wir waren froh, nicht länger in Mumbai bleiben zu müssen. Als kleiner Tip, wer von Mumbai aus im Container weiterschifft: fahrt nach Alibag und mietet euch dort irgendwo in die Resorts ein (absolute Hochsaison war bei uns 25€/Nacht). Mit dem Boot kann man nach Mumbai/Colaba, und der Containerhafen ist nur 1.5h weg, ganz ohne Verkehrschaos.

Preislich haben wir für UAE-IN knapp 2000€ und für IN-D knapp 2200€ gezahlt, alles zusammen.
