The Tunisian culture ministry has refused to authorize the screening of the film 'Muhammad, Messenger of God'. The film, by Iranian Majid Majidi, was to have been shown at the Colise cinema in the Tunisian capital on September 21 in the presence of the director. The director of the audiovisual arts section of the Tunisian culture ministry, Mounira Ben Halima, told a local radio station that "it is certainly true that the Tunisian constitution ensures creative freedom but this film is in a separate category. The personification and depiction of prophets causes problems inside our society and touches on the foundations of our religion, which is why this film did not receive ministerial permission for the screening." Cairo's Al Azhar University banned the screening of the film, which came out in late 2015, in all countries in the Arab world and Iraq is the only country not to comply with the ban so far...
