ARCHAEOLOGY: TUNISIA, EXCAVATIONS AT UTICA

TUNIS - A new campaign is underway to excavate the archeological site at Utica, in north-west Tunisia. The programme has been undertaken within the agreements for scientific cooperation, which has been signed by the National Heritage Institute of Tunisia (Inp) of the ministry for Culture and Heritage Protection, and the universities of Oxford (England), the Sorbonne (France) and the 'Institute for Phoenician Studies of Madrid. Once the technical studies have been completed, a museum will be set up (in an area of 390 square metres) in which all the exhibits and the other vestiges of ancient Utica will be displayed.
