Syria: Qatar, Arab countries' military intervention an optionThe situation in Syria is 'unacceptable': the UN has failed and Arab countries now have the role to intervene, Qatar's Prime Minister Sheik Hamad bin Jasim bin Jabr Al-Thani said today, recalling how Arab forces intervened in Lebanon in 1970. 'It is better for Arab countries themselves to intervene out of their humanitarian, political and military duties and do what is necessary to stop the bloodshed', the emir told the UN General Assembly.
