JORDAN: GULF WAR COMPENSATIONS TO HELP SAVE COUNTRY'S DESERT

AMMAN - Jordan is expected to receive a total of 100 million dollars in the coming weeks from the United Nation Compensation Committee (Uncc) over environmental damage caused by the Gulf war, an official said today. Jordan wants to bring back wild life to the barren Eastern Badia, the kingdom's natural borders with Iraq, by protecting and supporting biological diversity and revitalise plants, animals and soil.
