TRANSPORT: TUNISIAN COMPANY TO BUILD ROAD IN NIGER

TUNIS - Tunisian company SGTI, along with another business based in Burkina Faso, has begun tarring work on the Say-Tapoa road in western Niger on the border with Burkina Faso and Benin. The project, which will cost 34.5 million dinars (about 17.8 million euros), is being financed by the Islamic Development Bank (43%), the International Development Fund (46%) and Niger (11%). The road, which is 92km long and 6m wide, will be usable within two years.
