De Harderwijker natuurfotograaf Adri de Visser is neergeschoten tijdens een overval in Nairobi. Hierdoor is hij blind en deels verlamd geraakt. Tijdens een schietpartij werd De Visser vijf keer geraakt. Drie keer in de buik, eenmaal in zijn nek en eenmaal in zijn oog [...] Daar verbleef hij ditmaal met zijn echtgenote Regine op een camping in de omgeving van Nairobi. Met een stel Belgische vrienden werd daar een restaurant bezocht. Bij de poort doken, zo zegt Regine, twee jongens op. De één greep direct naar de zakken in de broek van De Visser. Op het zelfde moment werd hij door de andere dader in de buik geschoten.
This member, a dutch nature photographer Adri de Visser was shot Saturday evening in Nairobi during a robery while he and his wife were on vacation. He was seriously wounded and is in the hospital over there. Criticly but not in life danger at the moment. He was shot in the neck and can not walk anymore, and took a bullit in the eye and can not see anymore.. He was already blind on one eye. Also shot two times in his stomic.
Was fuer eine tragische und brutale Geschichte.

Im Feb 12 traf ich die beiden sehr sympathischen und super leidenschaftlichen Menschen in einem Camp in Kenia .
One Russian tourist was killed Sunday in an attack by armed gunmen in the coastal city of Mombasa. "The tourists were accosted by three unknown gunmen when one was struggling with them they shot her in the head," Tom Okoth, Mombasa county deputy police boss, told Anadolu Agency. "She was pronounced dead," he said. "We are currently in an emergency meeting at the central police station with the county commissioner and other officials regarding that (the attack on the tourists)," added Okoth. Mombasa police assistant county commandant Selvano Kubai told reporters that three Russian tourists were attacked near Fort Jesus, a famous tourist hub and a museum which used to be a Portuguese fort built in 1591. "As they were coming along the narrow streets of the old town of Mombasa, they were confronted by three young men," he said.
Eine ausländische Touristin ist am Donnerstag in der kenianischen Hafenstadt Mombasa erschossen worden. Nach den Tätern werde gefahndet, sagte der örtliche Polizeichef. Zur Nationalität des Opfers machte er keine Angaben. Die Tat ereignete sich in der Nähe des Ortes, wo am 6. Juli eine russische Touristin bei einem Raubüberfall getötet wurde.
Mombasa's "Old Town" scheint jetzt eine "No-Go-Area" für Touristen zu werden :(
Sehr schade! Irgendwie war mir zwar letztes Jahr dort auch ein wenig mulmig, aber dennoch ein sehr schöner flair, ein unglaubliches labyrinth, um sich einfach ein wenig treiben zu lassen...
