South Sinai Regional Development Programme (SSRDP)

Das „South Sinai Regional Development Programme“ der Europäischen Union stellt Gelder zur Entwicklung des Südsinai zur Verfügung.

Gefördert werden sollen
- der Erhalt der Beduinenkultur
- Bildung/Weiterbildung
- die Gesundheitsversorgung
- Projekte der einheimische Beduinen (Ökotourismus, Umweltschutz, Landwirtschaft...)
- Förderung des friedlichen Zusammenlebens von Beduinen, Ägyptern und Ausländern
usw.

Das Programm:
Rapid growth in South Sinai poses great opportunities as well as threats to the same resources on which growth is based. For the protection of such cultural and natural resources, and enhancing the living conditions of local communities, particularly Bedouins, the EU-funded South Sinai Regional Development Programme (SSRDP) to manage a grant of € 64 million. It's divided into two components: Component 1: pre-determined large projects related to infrastructure, studies, and equipment at a total of € 34 million. Component II: demand-driven Grant Scheme at total of € 20 million. The First Call for Proposals has already been launched for total amount of € 19 million. Also, the Direct Small Grants for Bedouin settlements with total amount of € 1 million. (April 2007)

- dass das Geld wie vorgesehen bei ihnen ankommt
- dass sie eine faire Chance zur Umsetzung ihrer Projekte erhalten und
- dass ihre Projekte fortbestehen
- Durchhaltevermögen und Erfolg.

Kurz: Dass für so viel Bedufamilien wie möglich die yom bassal vorbei sind und die yom assal endlich anbrechen mögen!
