Le terrorisme, l’un des principaux sujets de la réunion des ministres de l’Intérieur de la Méditerranée occidentale qui se tenait hier à Nouakchott, a changé d’envergure dans la région Maghreb-Sahel, passant d’un terrorisme limité à tel ou tel pays à un « terrorisme de zone ». « Auparavant l’action des GIA (Groupes islamistes armés) puis du GSPC (Groupe salafiste pour la prédication et le combat) qui leur a succédé se limitait au territoire algérien », a rappelé hier à des journalistes un haut responsable policier français, sous le couvert de l’anonymat.

"The verdict was handed down for the first (defendant) to have appeared, Abdallahi Ould Mohamed Sidya. He was sentenced to six years of prison with hard labour," said his lawyer, Ahmed Ould Ely, after leaving the courtroom.
